Advocate for Improved Nutrition & Physical Activity Environments in Sacramento

• Youth Convergence - Sat - Mon, April 17-19
• California Convergence Spring Conference - Mon, April 19
• ENACT Day - Tues, April 20 at the state Capitol

What and Why:

To build synergistic momentum and to collectively advance California's associated policy priorities, the California Convergence Spring Conference is in the middle of and part of two other Take Action Together convenings:

1. Take Action Youth Convergence is a three-day program (April 17-19) to:
   • Connect youth leaders and adult leaders to collaboratively advance policy change and build the movement
   • Synergy will be built between young people and adults who are working across the state on shared issues
   • Young peoples' energy will help adults drive Convergence to a new level of sustainability and policy development

2. Take Action Together California Convergence Spring Conference is a one-day convening (April 19) designed to connect Convergence communities from across California with each other, state level policy advocates and other key partners to:
   • Catalyze community driven, multi-sector strategic action to create change in 5 policy streams –
     1. joint use
     2. healthy food retail (redevelopment)
     3. land use/transportation planning at the nexus with climate change
     4. soda and water
     5. safety and violence prevention
   • Build momentum for collective action on ENACT Day
   • Build upon Youth Convergence pre-conference and create space for youth and adult partnerships to set the stage for collaborative action
   • Provide experiential learning to help sustain ourselves , so that we can sustain this movement for social change

3. ENACT Day (Nutrition Activity Day) is a one-day convening (April 20) designed to advocate for improved nutrition and physical activity environments at the state Capitol.
